College Fest Boston

I have to say, this was a strange event to me. It was like a corporate trade show that college kids and punk bands were invited to. I'm not saying we didn't have a great time, I loved the music and being around college kids makes you feel young again. The only down side is that we were right in front of the stage, so we couldn't hear what anyone was saying and they couldn't hear us. I think people were saying, "This (Purely Decadent) is great!" or they were saying, "See you at 8:00." I think the first one makes more sense.

I want to give a shout out to a few of the bands, illScarlett, Bayside (Awesome band!!!), Sucka Brown, State Radio and our favorite, Zox. If you get a chance to see one of these band, DO IT!!!

I also wanted to thenk all the Kappa Sigs for stopping by as well as the BU and Northeastern crew.

Sorry to all the Boston sports fans that the Pats and the Soxs lost. We will get them next time.

Big Apple Preforming Arts Fair

A million people, Time Square and free Purely Decadent, the perfect combination for a great time. We started the day with a moment of silence in respect for all those who lost their lives on Sept 11th. After that we didn't stop talking the rest of the day. The street fair was incredible and everyone was so nice and friendly. We are sorry that we ran out of product an hour early, the response was more than we predicted. John and Joann from Queens had us in stitches with their back and forth on who chose the better flavor. I our opinion you are both winners. I hope they try our favorite, Raspberry A La Mode. Thanks all for coming out.

Upper East Side Block Party

Brazilian Day Street Fair - NYC

Whole Foods Market - Montclair, NJ

We had a great day at the Whole Foods Market in Montclair, NJ. We want to thank everyone who stopped by and everyone who purchased our products.

On a side note, a man from New Orleans who was up here visiting family stopped by. He had just learned that everything he had was destroyed from the hurricane and that he only had clothing to last for a few days. We provided him with a few Purely Decadent Road Tour tshirts. He was very thankful for our small gesture of generosity. Our thoughts go out to all who are struggling to recover from this terrible disaster.

New York 3rd Ave Street Fairs

If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere, New York, New York! What an absolutely amazing city.

We headed into the city early Saturday morning for the Gramercy Park Neighborhood Festival, but before leaving we had an unexpected surprise. Christy was taking out the garbage when she came face-to-face with a seven foot black bear!!! Yikes!!! Lucky for her, the bear was just looking for some tasty treats in the dumpster and wasn't interested in dining a la' Christy. What is a bear is doing in New York you might wonder? Well, we are actually staying about 40 minutes outside of the city in New Jersey. It's slightly wooded, but certainly no bear country...or so we thought.

The festivals in New York were a huge a hit. Driving such a big rig through New York is quite an experience with taxis darting just inches in front of us!

A big Thank You goes out to all who stood in line. As we heard from most people it was worth the wait (Of course, we knew that already!). Next weekend we will be back in N.Y.C. for the Katherine Hepburn Garden Festival. Come out and see us. Mention this blog and we will give you a special gift. See you soon!

Musikfest Bethelhem, PA

Our camera, RV and trailer are back and working, but now we are making a mad dash across the country to the East Coast. Luckily we had a chance to stop by and see some old friends, Brent and Renee (long time fans of Purely Decadent, Soy Delicious and Lil' Buddies). Salt Lake City, UT

Still no camera, so no pictures once again. We are now in Salt Lake City, UT and spreading the word of Pure Dairy Free Indulgence. The weather here is soooooo hot and the product is melting before you can get the lid off. The support in Utah has been just outstanding. Wild Oats Market is absolutely fabulous both in Salt Lake and Park City.

San Joaquin County Fair

Our camera broke so no pictures this time. We had a great event at the San Joaquin County Fair. After handing out samples all day we had a chance to rock out to the band WAR. They rocked and if we had any samples left, I am sure the band would have loved them. The "Tell a Friend" program seems to be working great. Betty M. from Fresno told Jim and Barbara to come see us at the San Joaquin County Fair. I hope they all enjoy their gift. Remember if you tell a friend to come see us we will give you all a special gift.

Wine Country

Sonoma county is one of the most beautiful places around. We were in Petaluma and Santa Rosa at Whole Foods, and we also got to participate in the Harmony Festival at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Although our company has participated in this festival for several years, this was a first for us personally. It was a wacky and wonderful two day event. We had a great time, gave out a lot of samples and raised some good money money for the Sea Turtle Restoration Project www.seaturtles.org. We want to thank Cody and Diane Lee as well as Gary and Darlene Stanton for all of their help.

New Leaf Market

New Leaf Market, located in the Santa Cruz hills was a great stop. The people were so friendly at this little neighborhood market and the town was so pretty. We wish we could have stayed for the "Water System Fundraiser Dance." I am sure it was a great hoedown!

Run for the Future

Run for the Future, what a great event. This was a 5k/10k run in Palo Alto. As always, we were a big hit. Nothing hits the spot like some dairy free ice cream after a run. Thanks to Whole Foods for asking us to participate, we had a great time and look forward to being a part of this event next year.

Rainy Day in San Mateo

We have been lucky to have such great weather, that is, up until today. These pictures were taken before the real heavy stuff came down. I want to thank all those who stopped by even though the weather was so poor. I love the man who stopped by and said, "This must be REALLY good if you are willing to stand in the cold rain and hand it out." Followed by this comment, "WOW!!! This IS really good! Give me a coupon!"

We love San Francisco

We are having a great time in San Francisco visiting Whole Foods, Safeway, and Mollie Stone's Markets all over the Bay Area. We have also been doing a lot of interviews, such as, the San Jose Mercury News, 7x7 Magazine and Chow Magazine. We also squeezed in a little time to see some of the city, which is always a treat.

Bay to Breakers

We made it up to San Francisco for the big Bay to Breakers run. Even though we weren't a part of the event we got to see some pretty interesting costumes. On a personal note, I wanted to thank RJ Murray for coming out. RJ is president and owner of Murray Brand, the firm that designed all of our company's packaging, as well as the tour bus. Super Pet Adoption - Fresno, CA

Over 300 animals found new homes and four times as many samples of Purley Decadent did too! This was a wonderful event for the whole family. We couldn't have asked for a better day, not a cloud in the sky. A lot of the people had never heard of Purely Decadent, not surprising seeing that it is cattle country, but everyone was willing to give it a shot. From biker dudes to farmers they were all giving it a try and loving it! One couple made a b-line to the nearest Whole Foods to pick up a few pints.

We had a great time also and hope to make it back to Fresno.

Star Sighting

Guess who stopped by to try a Carb Escapes Fudge Bar? Charles Shaughnessy, A.K.A. Maxwell Sheffield from the hit comedy "The Nanny" as well as soap opera character "Shane" from "Days of Our Lives." He stopped by with his wife and I have to say they are two of the nicest people I met in Los Angeles. I wished I had my camera with me. Oh well.

BTW - He said the Carb Escapes bar was really good!

Revlon Women's Walk

On the Radio - Indie 103.1 Los Angeles

As we were driving home from another great in-store at Whole Foods Market, we turned on and were listening to Indie 103.1 Los Angeles. The DJ, T.K. said he was feeling a bit under the weather, so we gave him a call to see if some Purely Decadent would make him feel better. He was so blown away by the fact that we were traveling the country in this crazy dairy-free ice cream mobile that he put us on the air. He thought we were making this up, so we stopped by the studio to drop him off some product. He came out to the RV and then brought us back into the studio for a quick little interview.

T.K. is awesome and if you live in Los Angeles, you have to tune in to Indie 103.1 and have a listen.

Good Morning San Diego

This morning we were on the KFMB Channel 8 television station in San Diego (http://www.kfmb.com) with anchor man Dan Cohen. We talked about the Purely Decadent Road Tour while Cory from Kung Foods Restaurant demonstrated some mouth watering treats you can make with our products (a scrumptious banana split and a raspberry-mango colada). A little side note - I just want to thank the crew from channel 8 for helping us navigate through the parking lot, which was a little tight in places!

Whole Foods Market -- Tustin, CA

Here we are at Whole Foods in Tustin, CA. Once again, what a great group of people. The weather looked a bit threatening, but the rain held off. We have been telling people to check out our calendar and send a friend down to see us and in return we would give them a gift. Well it is working, we had our first "Tell-A-Friend" visitor come down and both people received a great gift. What was the gift, you ask? Well, tell a friend and find out. :)

Tim Fitzpatrick stopped by all the way from our Eugene office. He had a meeting in town and the wife of the man he met with saw the RV as she was driving by. Which reminds me, if you see the RV cruising down the highway and you have a picture phone, snap a shot and get a gift.

Earth Fair San Diego

What a crazy day. I think we gave a sample to every person in the San Diego area.

Once again we were in Balboa park sampling to thousands at the San Diego Earth Fair. The fair took place throughout most of the park and we were over in the far corner in Presidents Field. We heard that the word spread like the ride of Paul Revere, "Purely Decadent is here! Purely Decadent is here!" and by 10:30 we had a line a mile long. Everyone said it was so worth the wait.

Peanut Butter Zig Zag was the hit of the day followed closely by Praline Pecan and the Carb Escapes fudge bar.

We had a great time and fell in love with San Diego and all the people.

March of Dimes Walk

Walkers ready! On your mark, get set and go get some Purely Decadent!!!

Saturday morning we sampled at the March of Dimes walk in Balboa Park in the heart of San Diego. Five thousand walkers enjoyed a little dairy free ice cream at the early hour of 7:00 am. We were planted at the half-way marker along the route which was the perfect spot to supply the walkers with a little energy boost. Our favorite comment was, "Are you sure this isn't regular ice cream? This is way too good to be made with soy. You should change the name to, 'I can't believe it's not ice cream,' because I can't believe it is not ice cream!"
